Not sure if this is what I'm looking for. Very much a beginner with CSS. A NFP org I work with has built a website using CSS. All looks good and we've even included a forum. We also broadcast on ustream and utilise their chat which has it's pros and cons. Is it possible to embed something like the bubble to use side by side with our video feed. When I've looked at chat packages like ajax, they run in full screen, whereas we just want one area of the screen for chat. Any suggestions/recommendations? Either way if the bubble isn't suitable for chat it will be very handy to use as a "scratch board" that we also want to put on the video stream page.
Thanks

Kyle, the latter technique that you mentioned, sprites I think, would be a wonderful tut to write up and share as I'm so interested in learning it's value and use. For the former, this was again, an awesome explanation and "gift" to the community. Thanks!

Genix, you're absolutely right. I never really thought of it, but I guess you could create a very wide image that would allow you to use a repeating Y-axis background on one side, and have the header/footer image on the other side (which is clipped on the body portion of the chat bubble). Great idea...I may have to make a new blog post with just that technique.

"[..] increases download times", why? you can pack the images in one image, and then position the background in the different divs. With that you would have the same download time, but the bubble would be very flexible.
